Flasher came to us from Food4Thought Dairy Goats near Douglass, KS. We had reserved a son by him, out of our favorite doe in their herd; that son wasn’t produced but Brandy graciously offered us Flasher instead. We’re excited to have him here, and looking forward to him adding great length and height to our does. His daughters in the Food4Thought herd are performing very well- Charteuse already has her dry leg, and several others have 1st and 2nd place class placings under their belts. We’re confident he’ll have finished daughters in their herd in the next few years.

Flasher’s dam-line is of the well-proven Blissberry herd. His dam, Mardi Gras, is the only doe in his 4-generation dam-line who hasn’t achived her permanent championship yet, but she has two legs awarded, and we think the third is pending. Her rump structure is what initially caught my eye- wide and flat enough to carry a dinner platter! Mardi Gras’s paternal granddam, Bing Bang Boom, is a doe I’ve long admired for her general appearance. There are many more great Blissberry does behind him, as you can see in the dam-line ancestor’s section below.

Flasher’s sire-line is not well proven in performance programs, but have been successful in the local region for many genrations. His sire’s dam, 4RS Licorice, is a paternal relative of our beloved Lilly (Ethel’s dam). When we discovered Lilly’s relatives in Brandy’s herd, we knew we wanted to bring in some of those genetics since we lost Lilly way too soon. These goats have great size, dairyness and production, and we’re confident Flasher will bring that to our herd.
