Kansas Bluestem Elektra

ADGA #N2250169

June 9, 2022

Elektra is our oldest daughter of Ethel, and one of our two daughters of Robinett’s-Caprines Amadeus. She seems to have inherited her mother’s width and production capability, while having some improvements to udder texture and topline strength from her sire. Elektra was sold as a weanling, along with Stella, but returned to Bluestem Acres when we purchased her back in April of 2024. She was a first freshening two year-old with us, having a litter of twins in July 2024. We took her to the KS State Fair in 2024, where she placed well in her class of 2 year olds.

Elektra seems to take after her dam on the milkstand, peaking at almost 9.0lbs of milk a day in her first freshening. She also inherited an impressive runp width and structure from Ethel, which makes kidding a breeze. We have high hopes of seeing her true production capabilities with a typical spring freshening in 2025. Elektra isn’t an affectionate doe, and prefers to be left along unless you need her on the milking stand. She’s a bit bossy in the herd, and quickly learned that nipping at ears gets the other goats to yield to her requests faster. We expect she will take over the herd queen position as soon as she’s given the opportunity from her dam.

Elektra’s sire, Amadeus, added some nice length and dairyness to her frame. Her also greatly improved udder texture over her dam, Ethel. With Elektra being G6S normal and AS1C B/B, we’re delighted to have a high producer in our high casein genetics. Her long and lean neck and strong topline should give her nice longevity in the milkroom. She stands on good feet and legs, but is a bit hocky in the back, a trait both her sire and dam passed on. In future breedings, we hope to straighten out her hocks and continue to add some length to her rump structure, without sacrificing her tremendous width between her pins.

Elektra will likely not earn her milk * until her second lactation, due to her first lactation being cut short. We expect production and components to be fairly high. Udder Photos

We’re (admittedly) not the most skilled at clipping and photographing udders. Please accept our apologies for the lack of skill in these areas, and know that we provide you with the best we’re capable of giving. If at any time you want current udder photos of a doe, just contact us.

Udder- September 2024

~60 DIM, 1st Freshening

Elektra’s udder texture is phenomenal and she seems to have great capacity and production. We hope to impove foreudder blending and strength of rear attachment in her daughters.

Kidding Journal @ Bluestem Acres

2024- We purchased Elektra at about 30 days bred from the people who bought her from us as a weanling. Elektra is not one we intended to purchase back, but she came along with Stella who we desperately wanted… but we’re not disappointed Elektra came along as well. We were originally given a due date of June 6 for Elektra, but that day came and went. We watched her like a hawk for about a week after June 6, but then gave up on the round the clock monitoring. Near July 1st, we started to notice some pre-kidding changes in Elektra and began monitoring her again. She delivered healthy buck/doe twins on July 6, 2024… apparently the due date math was just a little off! Elektra came into milk really well, producing almost 9.0lbs on her first milk test. Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case with mid-summer freshenings, the weather quickly turned hot and zapped her production before we could really see her capabilities. She milked well through the end of summer and beginning of fall, before being dried off near the end of January for her late- April freshening in the Spring of 2025.

2025- Elektra is bred to PNP-Legacy Ralph Lauren for a late-April 2025 kidding.
