Maple’s dam, Clarice, is a doeling we never should have sold, so we were very glad to get the opportunity to purchase a daughter out of her. Add to it that Maple is sired by “Whiskey,” a buck from the same herd as our herdsire Cozy Meadow Maximum Chrome, and we were doubly happy.

Maple freshened at 18-months of for her first freshening with twins. Her udder and milk came in beautifully, hitting over eight pounds a day on her second milk test. We know this goat has the genetics to be extremely milky! We’re looking forward to see her mature into a nice frame with a fantastic udder.

Maple is on track to meet her *M requirements in all three categories in her first freshening. She gave 8.6 pounds of milk on her second test and did not fall off much in her third test. ~30 DIM, 1st Freshening

Maple’s udder has excellent texture, but her teats do point a bit to the side. We expect them to pull down more with maturity. We really love the size, shape and placement of her teats, and her strength of medial. We will be attempting to improve attachments in her offspring.

2024- Maple delivered adorable buck/doe twins, sired by PNP-Legacy Ralph Lauren, three days before her due date for her first freshening. Presentation of the kids was perfect and she needed zero assistance, despite them both being near six pounds. Maple had no clue what to do with the babies though and did not mind me stepping in to take them away. Maple came into milk wonderfully, with a traditional lactation curve. She peaked at 8.6 pounds of milk a day on her second DHIR test, and maintained that production through a good portion of her lactation. We were especially impressed with her udder texture, as she milks down to complete emptiness, each time. We are very excited to have her on our milk line and hope to breed her for daughters that contribute to both our high casein and low casein production lines, since her AS1C is B/N.

2025- Maple will be bred to Cozy Meadow Maximum Chrome for fall 2025 kids. Her first doeling will be retained. Any additional kids will be available.
