Redwood Hills Atlas Memory
February 25, 2020
Memory is (hopefully) the last mature doe addition to our farm and herd of foundation breeding stock. She’s a gorgeous black roan doe, with a fantastic head and beautiful breed character. We’ve struggled with posing her for a picture, as she’s been pregnent the entire time we’ve owned her, but will get a better profile shot after she kids in 2023. We purchased Memory in October of 2022, from The Hosman Farms, located in Greenbrier, AR. We feel incredibly blessed to have been able to purchase two does (other doe is Redwood Hills Event Mardi Gras) from them during their herd reduction.
ADGA #N2172823
9*M
Memory has very nice and strong rear pasterns, and we appreciate her rear legset. She has a long, dairy neck, with great ears that tip slightly forward at the ends. We hope that as she matures she gains some depth. I absolutely can’t wait to see Memory’s udder because the ones in her pedigree are fantastic! We hope to improve rump length and levelness, overall smoothness and add a little bit of brisket extension in our breedings to her.
DHI Records
None yet… but we expect great things! Her dam is an 8*M and her sire’s dam has also earned her milk star.

Kidding Journal @ Bluestem Acres
2023- We purchased Memory confirmed bred to Tamris Farms DW It’s Maui Time at approximately 75 days to her due date. We were told she was due January 17, 2023… but she didn’t deliver until January 24, 2023. I had been watching her closely for about a week, and expected she could deliver any day. That morning her udder had bloomed so I knew it was likely the day and I put her into the kidding stall… but she never showed any additional signs of labor. I checked her in person every 1.5 hours, and on the camera every 45 minutes… 40 minutes after I’d visited her in the kidding stall, I checked the camera and there were three kids on the ground- two healthy bucks, one of the boys being almost nine pounds, and one sweet little doe. The doe kid was retained, The Hosman Farm Maui Souvenir. The Hosman Farm Maui Legend went to be a herdsire in Kingman, and the second sold as grade. Memory is milking nicely. Her production isn’t as high as we’d like to see, but her teat placement and shape and her udder texture are fantastic. We hope that Souvenir has the same qualities and we hope to improve production in offspring by breeding with some high production boys.
2024- Memory was bred for early January kids, sired by Zao Playin Stubborn Just4U. She kidded twin does on January 6, 2024. The first doeling arrived about 11:30pm, and was black with tan trim and a white top know. Memory then took a really long break… over an hour!… before I went fishing for the second doeling who was still over elbow deep inside her uterus. My exploration triggered contractions again, and the doeling was born shortly afterward, about 1:15pm. This doeling was also black, with brown trim and white top knot, plus a small white spot on her front left pastern. The doe kids weighed within two tenths of a pound of one another! We named the doelings Epiphany, since January 6th is celebrated as Epiphany, and Dejavu, since she is so much like her sister. Epiphany stayed right here in our herd and Dejavu was sold to a young 4-Her from Peabody, KS.

Sire’s Dam- SGCH Wingwood Farm Tim’s Althea

Althea is descirbed as one of Wingwood’s best brood does, and its no surprise they think so. With offspring such as TL Atlas, TL Aviva and Altima, she certainly outproduces herself.
