Collected October 2024 by XCELL Genetics None Available for Sale at this time
AS1C A/B G6S Normal
We purchased Ralph on a whim as a bottle kid. His pedigree caught our eye; it combines the showy elegance of the nationally known Blissberry herd with the heavy production and longevity of the Camelot Cattle Company herd. It was our hope that he would cross well over our does from Camelot Cattle Company. When planning breeding season in 2024, we realized we needed to make some cuts to our buck numbers due to the hoped for junior bucks we wanted from the crosses. We had Ralph collected by XCell Genetics that October, putting 20 straws in our tank and sending 10 straws to a herd in Wisconsin. Ralph headed to a new herd in western Kansas in November of 2024.
There is a lot to love about Ralph. His daughters have been big and growthy. He is gentle and easy to handle. We do notice that he dips in his chine, but that trait isn’t pronounced in his offspring. His long, dairy neck, blends well into his shoulders, even though his shoulder is a bit far forward (causing the dip in his chine), and he has a nice brisket structure. Ralph passes on great length and rear leg set to his offspring. His escutcheon is well defined, his legs are true and he stands on strong feet. We haven’t see fresh daughter’s yet, but we expect high production and nicely attached mammary systems.
Ralph’s parents come from two different herds, but both go back to the Kastdemur’s bloodlines we have in so many of our doe lines. In particular, both sides go back to ++*B GCH Kastdemur’s Time in a Bottle, son of SGCH Kastdemur’s Temerity, the 2009 ADGA Nubian National Champion. Ralph’s dam, Blissberry New Jersey, was the 12th place milking yearling at the 2021 ADGA National show, and his sire’s dam, Camelot Cattle Co Amara, has made the ADGA Top Ten list three years in a row (so far). His pedigree is full of multi-generationnal star milkers and excellent mammaries, with many successful show chhampions and Superior Genetics animals.
